how to Repair buttonholes
Step 1
Sometimes after excessive use, buttonholes can stretch enough to break through the thread and can start to ladder. As soon as you see any loose thread, use this tutorial to fix and strengthen your buttonholes before they can tear too much.
Step 2
Begin with a fine needle and thread, tying a knot a few centimetres from the end of the thread.
Step 3
With the right side of the fabric facing towards you, insert the needle just above the start of the opening from one side to the other.
Step 4
Go back over the same stitch, working down slightly until the top of the opening is covered.
Step 5
Finish with the end of the thread on the same side as the original knot.
Step 6
Tie the two loose ends together 2 or 3 times to secure.
Step 7
Trim off any excess thread.
Step 8
You should end up with something that looks like this!
