Tailoring and Innovation
After constructing the simple grey tailored jacket, my task was to redesign the garment using no conventional seams or suppression methods and 100% natural materials. The black jacket I designed uses a belt and channels for suppression and the body is cut from one continuous piece. The sleeves feature horizontal seams at the elbow for shaping, and button up with snap fastenings. The outer fabric is 100% wool, lining is viscose and all interfacings are sewn in to be easily removed. The thread and interfacings are 100% cotton.
