Ikigai
Designed for Dover Street Market, this collection takes inspiration from the colours of Lynda Benglis’ abstract sculptures, while technical fabrics and functional details ensure practicality.
Capsule Collection: Blood Ties
This collection explores the links between community and environment in Scotland, using colours inspired by the landscapes of ‘Local Hero’, textures derived from tangled fishing nets and plastic ocean waste, along with the chunky wool of fishermen’s jumpers.
Diffusion Collection
Elements from my ‘Blood Ties’ capsule collection were diffused into this line designed for mid-level retailer AllSaints. Other aesthetic inspiration came from Winston Churchill’s controversial relationship with Scotland as represented in his paintings.
CLV
This diffusion line delivers all of the delightful detail and amplified silhouettes of Costume à la Victime without the price tag to match. This collection is perfect for the busy modern woman who refuses to compromise on style or substance.
Architectural Project
This collection was inspired by the architecture of the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. I experimented with various unconventional pattern cutting techniques, such as subtraction pattern cutting and draping. The brief stated that the the collection was to be all black, so I used different textures and fabric weights to create variations. This outfit was displayed in an exhibition at my university, along with the accompanying illustrations.
Urban/Rural 2020
A collection of men’s clothing inspired by 1920s workwear. The garments had to fit the needs of a circular economy and be highly functional for a wearer going between the city and the countryside. This collection was produced in collaboration with Halley Stevensons and the Royal Highland & Agricultural Society Of Scotland.
Tailoring and Innovation
A creative pattern cutting project, transforming a traditional tailored jacket pattern using unconventional seams and methods of suppression.
